Green Park

Once upon a time is the multi cuisine restaurant at the Green Park Hotel in Vadapalani. The most popular cuisine here is the north and south Indian but they also have a large Chinese menu and a few Italian and continental dishes for their large population of international guests. They serve different kinds of soups and appetizers are in plenty. The veg and non-veg kebab platters consisting of the Galouti, Reshmi, Sheek Kebabs are quite popular and the chutney which accompanies these kebabs is also very tangy and tasty. Kattumaram – For Authentic Sea Food

This place has been started by Chef Jacob Aruni at 131, St.Mary’s Road, Alwarpet. He has painstakingly got together a menu which mainly inspired by housewives. And some of the recipes from Madurai to Kanyakumari are centuries old. This is a must-eat place for those who love sea food. Do not go to Kattumaram expecting great decors and ambience. They have concentrated more on the essentials of dining.

Savera – The English Food Festival At Piano

Piano at Savera showcases classic British soups like Cookie Leekie and Scotch broth; the famous bakes like Shepherd’s Pie, Grilled Steaks, Pot Roast Meat, vegetarian and non-vegetarian stews, waffles, pancakes and more are on the menu. Anglo-Indian curries like Vindaloo, Muligatwany Mutton Curry, etc will add spice. Nigel Peppins Live jazz performance with the cello, accordion and saxophone makes the fest lively. Buffet At Sparky’s Diner

At Sparky’s, at the end of Spur Tank Road (Opposite Palimar restaurant), you can treat yourself to a great buffet. The buffet is available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (19th, 20th and 21st Dec) from 7 pm onwards. Roast chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, chicken wings and pumpkin pie will be served – Rs.395 for adults and Rs.225 for kids. Live carols will usher in the mood of Christmas, on all three nights. On Saturday, 20th Dec, there will also be a breakfast buffet.

Karma Cafe

The latest place for having a break out in Chennai is the Karma Cafe. Even though it is a small place, you will find it great inside having Coffee, Milkshakes and other snacks. You can also enjoy the red hot spicy items like Pastas, Sandwiches, Burgers and other Bakes in both Vegge and Non-Vegge. For those who like desserts, you could find Cheese Cakes, Brownies and Tarts. Lydie’s On Ecr – South Indian And Continental Spread

This place has a uniquely different and elegant décor and ambience. The food is made by Abdullah and Lydie, his Flemish wife. The duo, who do the cooking themselves, will surprise you with the repertoire of dishes ranging from South Indian to Portugease, French and American that they can prepare for you. The desserts at their place are specially tempting.
