Music
Music at Hamsadwani

On May 31st there will be a special devotional mus ic concert by SubaSruti group to offer tribute to
its founder secretary R. Ramachandran. The group will be lead by Mathangi Ramakrishnan. The
concert will be followed by religious discourse. At 6.05 pm on 31st May, at youth Hostel, Second
Avenue, Indira Nagar, Adyar.

Mano Musical Nite

At Kararajar Arangam, Anna Salai, there will be a music performance by playback singer Mano.
The programme is on May 31, at 6.30 pm.

Osher Moosica at Alliance Francaise

The Alliance Francaise of Madras and Musee Musicals presents Osher Moosica which in Hebrew
means music creates happiness. Osher Moosica is comprised of group of talented musician.This
band attracts great c rowed every time they play. Osher Moosica has followers, fans of every genre
& age group. Osher Moosica is planning to perform world music show with these talented
mus icians on Friday, May 29, 2009. At AFM Auditorium, New No 24 College Road, Ph: 2827-9803

Summer Of Love from Unwind Centre

110 Children & adults went through 12 days of training last month where they were given vocal
training and taught 13 songs each from the Disney & Hollywood music streams.

Now the students, will be unleashing all that they have learnt at a professional concert on the
29/30 May, 2009. Each batch will perform 10 of their best songs, spiced with some dance steps
and of course AV screens so the audience can participate and re-live the magic of these songs.
The exciting evening will feature songs like Oompa Loompa (Chocolate Factory), Chim Chimney
(Mary Poppins) Bare Necessities (Jungle Book) a Lion King Medley, Accidentally in love (Shrek 2)
You’ll bring honour to us all (Mulan) Strangers like me (Tarzan) Oh what a beautiful morning
(Oklahoma), With a lil bit of luck (My Fair Lady) Mamma mia medley, Somewhere over the
rainbow (Wizard of Oz) Summer nights (Grease) and much more.

The audience will also be treated to extensive sing along sessions and even some group
vocal/rhythm exercises – so be prepared! The concerts will be of 1 hour 45 minutes duration only.

The concert has all the makings of being an extremely interactive, fun filled evening that will not
be forgotten easily!!

Unique Event: The ‘Summer of Love’ is a unique event that was conceptualized by the Unwind
Center last year. The success of the last year has spilled over to the present and the event was
brought back by popular demand. The tremendous response resulted in 110 students of both
children and adults from ages 7-56!

Earth Sync Festival 2009

This festival of music and dance has elements of the contemporary and traditional. It
has devotional poetry, Rajasthani rhythm blending with western music. Shye Ben Tzur is
the major draw during this year’s edition of Earthy Sync Festival. He is a flautist,
vocalist, composer and Hebrew qawwwali singer having lived in the Northern part of
India for about 10 years. Along with him on stage will be a Spanish guitarist, an Israeli
Bassist, a team of RajasthanIfolk artistes, trumpeters and people with mouth harps
called morsings. There will be a mix of Rathasthani and Hebrew folk, qawwali blending
together to create a unique type of music.

Karthik (Patrick Sebag) and Gotham (Yotam Agam) two musicians from Israel will also
feature in the festival. They will perform fusing global and electronic music with an
international appeal.

The Earth Sync Festival will be held from 6 pm onwards on 30th May at SMVR Concert
Hall. Lady Andal School Auditorium, 13/1 Harrington Road, Chetpet. Tickets priced at
Rs.400 are available at Landmark, Odyssey, Courtyard Marriott.

Summer Shakes from John Britto’s Dance co.

This is the culmination of the annual camp of John Britto’s Dance co. This will be a dance
performance by itsstudent in the age group of 5-50. Tickets are priced at Rs.250, 200 and 150.

Plays
Krishna Leela

Narada Gana Sabha Trust is organizing Mayan Theatre’s Krisha Leela play by Raadhu. It will be
staged at kamarajar Arangam on May 31.

Pournami – K Balachandar’s new play

Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha is organizing Pournami dealing with the theme of patriotism. At
Vani Mahal, 103, G N C hetty Road, T Nagar, on May 30th, at 6.30 pm.

Chocolate Krishna – Crazy Mohan’s play

This play will be s taged at Vani Mahal on May 31, at 4.15 pm.

Magic Show with P.C Sorcar

Priya Cultural Academy organizes at magic show with P.C Sorcar who is performing with his son,
Master Pourush Chandra Sorcar. This show exhibits the most innovative and the newest tricks. Till

Jadugar Karan Magic Show

Magic shows are going on daily at Raja Annamalai Mandram A/C (near Broadway Bus Stand / High
Court), at 7 pm. On Sundays there is an additional show at 4.00 pm.
