Old Melodies of Md.Rafi

On Saturday 6th June at 6.00 pm at Music Academy, TTK Road, Chennai, old melodies of Md.Rafi’s
will be performed by famous singers – Md.Aslam, Anuradha & Anil Bajpai. Tickets will be available
at the following centres:

Metrozone Symphony

35 of the finest Carnatic classical mus icians with TS Krishnamurthy and Anoor Ananthakrishna
Sharma in the lead will perform at Sri Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall, Harrington Road on
June 6, at 6 pm.

Kutcheri in the Park

Kutcheri in the Park is an initiative from Sundaram Finance. On June 7, Sunday, at 6.30 am,
Madhumathi, a student of Sri Sankara Vidhyashram will present a Carnatic music performance.
The spec ialty of the concert is that mikes and speakers are not permitted.

Poongavil Poongatru – Open-air Shows

This initiative where people get to watch and hear music and dance on Saturday evenings at
various parks within the city is catching on with the masses. The objective is to synchronise
music with nature – creating awareness about our huge cultural heritage while the cuckoos
coo, the nightingale warbles and the sparrow chirps in the parks.

This Saturday, on June 6th, the third open air show in the Poongavil Poongatru series will take
place at Thiru-vi-ka Park, Shenoy Nagar at 6 pm.

S.Ve.Sekhar’s Vaal Paiyan

This is from S.Ve.Sekar who is a multi faceted personality known for not only his wit, but also his
courage and commitment. A leading comedian of the Tamil stage and screen, he has been around
for over 30 years backed by an impressive array of super hit stage plays, tele-serials and films.

UAA will present Y Gee Mahendra’s Vietnam Veedu.

This play by Railpriya is a hilarious drama. It is about a damsel who comes to our planet from
another planet.
June 9, 6.45 pm, Padhma Vyugam
This play highlights the lack of concern the young generation has for their parents. The play is
presented by Sowmya Theatre.
June 10, 6.45 pm, Mugam Mugavarikal
This is a suspense thriller from Augusto Creations.
June 11, 6.45 pm, Comedy Kalyanam
This play is from Sathya Sai Creations.

FASHION FOR A CAUSE

Oh! Zone, an evening of fashion, s tyle and glamour inspired by nature is being organized by THE
