Duchess Utsav – 2009

This is the 8th year of Duchess Utsav featuring designer labels from different parts of the country.
There will be a lot of opportunity to do shopping, entertainment, fashion show, recipe contest and
lots of games.
The programme is as follows:
19th September – Music, Tumbola, games and fun
20th September – Recipe contest and
“The Good Stuff” , the best songs of the last 50 years presented by Unwind Center, from 5.30 pm
to 7 pm.
The Utsav will be held on September 19 and 20 at Rani meyyammai Hall, Egmore.

International Half Marathon on September 27

This event is called Give Life Chennai Marathon because it aims at supporting 14,600 kids. By
registering you in fact further the cause of this noble initiative. You can register for the 21.09 km
Half Marathon (Entry fee-Rs.100), I Love Chennai – City Run covering a distance of 7 km
(Rs.30). Registration for the run is happening at the major parks in the city and also at major

Photography Exhibition at AFM Gallery

Exhibition- Through different eyes. “Vision of Chennai” – Photographs by Sara Lehberger, a
French Social worker and Ganesh Manivannan, a media professional – two minds grown up in two
different background, set out to experience the city in two different perspectives, through the eyes
of a foreigner discovering Chennai, and a native rediscovering his very own city!

“The Madras Canvas in Short” at Forum Art Gallery

This is an art exhibition showcasing the works of many city-based painters, sculptors, cartoonists
and photographers. The show will be on till October 3, 2009.

Dolls for Navaratri Kolu

C.P Art Centre is holding an exhibition ‘Navaratri Kolu’. Dolls from Kondapalli, Ettikopakka and
Chennapatna. On display are also dolls made of glass, terracotta, clay, cloth and marble powder.
The exhibition is on till September 26 at Vennirul Art Gallery. (Sunday closed).
