Chennai Book Fest – 2009
The first annual “Chennai Book Fest 2009”, organized by GOOD PASTOR INTERNATIONAL BOOK
CENTRE / BETTER YOURSELF BOOKS, is all set to enter its maiden show.
The Fest will be held at Anglo Indian St.Mary’s Boys Higher Secondary School
Auditorium,110, Aremenian Street, Broadway, Chennai-1, from 27th September to 4th
October, 2009. The highlight of this year’s exhibition is a special section of books on value-based
literature that would be of tremendous help to our youth in rendering themselves to be useful and
responsible members of society. The books are judiciously selected from many major book
publishers and distributors for all the age groups. Some of the categories include: Bible, family
life, self-help, personality development, character formation, philosophy, theology, education,
cookery, medicine, novels, stories, sports, literature, biographies of the great, classics, etc. A
section dealing with audio and video cassettes will be another prominent feature.
This mega book event, featuring over 5000 titles from other reputed publishers besides Better
Yourself Books, will be available for sale with attractive discount. The exhibition will remain open
until Sunday 4th October 2009 from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. An added attraction is that there will be
separate sections for Tamil and English books.
“The Madras Canvas in Short” at Forum Art Gallery
This is an art exhibition showcasing the works of many city-based painters, sculptors, cartoonists
and photographers. The show will be on till October 3, 2009.

and sights of life, capturing that one singular moment that could indeed change the way we see
things – things that we would simply ignore and move on – are brought to life through the lens

The Story of Bengal Weaves
This exhibition (11th edition happening in Chennai) is organized by Rang Mahal, formed by the
weavers of Nadia District in West Bengal. The exhibition will show case the Story of Bengal
Weaves at Chettiar Hall (Ground Floor, TTK Road) till October 12, 2009. Sarees are the attraction
here, but there will be woven dress materials which will whet your appetite.
Pets for Kids – Kit & Pet Show
From 1st October to 5th October, there will be an exhibition of various types of pets meant for
