Jewel Bazaar-2009 at Poompuhar
At Poompuhar Showroom Jewel Bazaar-2009 is going on featuring a variety of jewellery from all over
South India including precious and semi-precious stones. The exhibition will offer a discount of 10% on all
jewellery items. On till 7th November from 10 am to 6 pm, at 108, Anna Salai.
Glass Sculpting Workshop for Adults
DakshinaChitra, the heritage centre for the development of traditional arts and crafts of South India is
organizing Glass Sculpting Workshop for Adults on the 29th and 30th of October 2009. Mr. Srinivasa
Raghavan, the resource person has been trained in scientific glass blowing and has been in this field for
over 25 years. He has traveled all over India and Europe for various workshops and camps.
Participants will be taught to make glass sculpture like flowers & animal motifs using soft Glass. This
technique is safe and suitable for beginners. The Fee is Rs.750/-
Date : 29th & 30th Oct 09.
Venue : DakshinaChitra, East Coast Road, Muttukadu, Chennai
Duration : 10.30am to 5.30pm.
Conveyance to and from Dakshinachitra,will be provided.

Art Exhibition “Allamaram”
“Allamaram” an exhibition of Paintings, Mixed-Media and Digital Art by P.Panju will be on show at
Dakshinachitra Art gallery.
P. Panju, holds a degree in visual communications from Loyola College, Chennai. The artist compares his
thoughts and expressions to the branched roots of Allamaram. According to the artist, his works are about
transformation and discovery of inherent qualities of objects and situations, which are clarified and
displayed by the juxtaposition of role and context brought about by the working process.
The show will be inaugurated by dancer- choreographer Prabhu Deva at 10 am on 6th November 2009
