Explore Wayanad – 3 Nights / 4 Days

Wayanad is a famous hill station in Kerala, and it is one of the districts in Kerala that has been able to etains its pristine nature. Covering an area of 2132 square kms it is situated at an altitude of 700 to 2100 above sea level, nestled among the mountains of Western ghats. The hills, rocks and valleys, which give shape to the very unique terrain of Wayanad provide for exceptional adventure experiences. Mountains and forest intersperse to create numerous outback trails, trekking routes and opportunities for other adventure sports. With vast areas still unexplored, Wayanad is truly an area for adventure waiting to be discovered. Luxuriant plantations of coffee, tea, cardamom, pepper and rubber are strewn all over the hills of Wayanad.

Wayanad also has several home stay options which are very comfortable and gives you care beyond what you can expect from stiff waiters to hotels or resorts.

Tour Programme:
Day 1: Chennai to Calicut.Departure from Chennai Central at 08.00 PM by Mangalore mail, over night train journey

Day 2: Calicut to Wayanad. Arrival at Calicut Railway station at 07.45am and transfer by Non-AC vehicle and check in to Hotel in Wayanad. After refreshment relax for an hour and have lunch at your leisure. After lunch leave for Pooket Lake. Boating facility is also available here. Return in the evening, have dinner and retire for the night.

Day 3: Wayanad After breakfast leave for Edakkal caves with packed lunch. Edakkal caves are pre-historic caves. It is soft trekking. After Edakkal caves, have your packed lunch and relax for some time. Then drive down to Soochipara waterfalls – a 3 tiered waterfalls. Return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 4: Wayanad.After breakfast, leave for Kuruwa Island, a 995 acres island which is rich for its flora and fauna. Carry packed lunch from the hotel. Explore the island till lunch time. Have packed lunch and relax for one hour. Leave for Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary. Enjoy Jeep safari in the Sanctuary. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5: Wayand to Calicut.After breakfast, relax for an hour, after checking out from the hotel proceed to Calicut railway station for return journey, boarding train at 04.30 PM

Day 6: Arrival Chennai at 05.25 am.

One Day Group Tour to Pulicat

Come December and the time is just right to go to Pulicat. Because, the sun does at down mercilessly on you, rains are rare, enjoying the lazy progress made by your boat for about 3 hours in the expanse of the lagoon in Pulicat is pure fun and the great visitors from across continents – the beautiful migratory birds – are waiting to charm you. For groups of people wanting to have a great time, there is hardly any better place than Pulicat.

Pulicat is a small town in the Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu state. The town is situated 65 km towards the north of the capital of Tamil Nadu. Pulicat largely consists of the backwaters of the adjoining sea which is
Bay of Bengal. The lake, called Pulicat lake, situated here constitutes a great picnic spot for Chennaites

Pulicat and its vast natural resources present one great attraction in the southern India. The place houses the second largest lagoon of India, Pulicat lake. The lake as well the town is one frequently visited picnic spots in the state. The region features a number of attractions including the bio-diversity at Pulicat lake and some historical landmarks in the town. Sailing in the lake is considered as one of the greatest
amusements at Pulicat.

Pulicat is steeped in history. It was an important base for the Dutch during the 16th century and there are still remnants of those years, for those interested in history.

The water in the lagoon is shallow. It is a safe and exotic location, ideal for picnics. During winter season, you get to see migratory birds and it is a great sight.
Suggested Programme:7.30 am start, 11 am boating 1.30 PM lunch, 3 PM resumes boating, 5.30 PM Tea/Cofee, 6 PM start return Journey, 7.30 PM reaching Chennai.
