Kalasa – 1 Night / 2 Days for Groups

Kalasa is in the form of a peninsula (pot shaped), with a river hemming the 3 sides of the place.
This emerging ‘must see’ eco-tourist spot is situated in the Trekker’s paradise of Kudremukh and
is 6,214 ft above sea level in Malnad, 95 km from Chikmagalur and 200 kms from Mysore.

This week Service square offers a stay in a Silent valley resort, a hotel set amidst natural
surroundings and also a good base for visits to Kudremukh. All the rooms here are individual
ethnic cottages, quite pretty and self-sufficient and its huge restaurant overlooks the pool. The
scenic beauty of the place is blended with the total privacy taking you away from the buzzing,
crowded and congested city life.

This resort has cottages opening out to the thick valleys of the Western Ghats. These unique
ethnic cottages in a natural step-out grass land are half hidden and private. As a whole it gives
you a village type of atmosphere and the nature is at its best in and around the resort.

Activities and facilities include Trekking, Pilgrimage, Adventure activities, Bird watching, Sports,
Creative work, Yoga and Meditation, Conference Hall, Forest Walk/ Jogging track, Carrom and
Badminton.

Sightseeing:
Tea Estate & Factory is 5 km from the resort. One gets to view the beautiful tea estates and the
factory were the leaves are treated.

Panchatheerta is located around the village Kalasa. They are Naga Thirtha, Vashista Thirtha,
Rudra Thirtha, Amba Thirtha and Koti Thirtha. Maharishi Vashista is supposed to have performed
his penance here. In AmbaThirtha, Sita Devi is supposed to have taken bath during their vanavas.
Amba Thirtha is a picturesque place and many film shootings have been done here. Distance from
resort is 7 km.

Duggappana Kote gives an excellent view point & one can see Kudremukh peak and the entire
Kalasa village from this place. Located just 7 kms. away from this resort, one can reach the peak
by trekking 200 meters.

Kudremukh peak is 6,250 ft above sea level and this peak which means the horse face hill
falls before the town and requires a small hike up. On a very very clear day the blue edge of the
Arabian Sea is visible from there.

1 Night / 2 Days at Baralikkadu

Surprisingly, very few, have heard of Baralikkadu in the Athikkadavu range of the Western Ghats.
This emerging ‘must see’ eco-tourist spot is situated at an altitude of about 1,000 metres on the
Karamadai-Pilloor dam stretch. It takes 2 hours drive from Coimbatore to reach Baralikkadu.
This week Service square offers a coracle ride at Baralikkadu, trekking at
Athikkadavu and a full day fun at Black Thunder, Mettupalayam. In Baralikkadu you find you are in
the middle of nowhere and can’t be reached by any one. The lush green cover on either side of the
narrow road and breathtaking views of clouds passing atop the ‘blue’ ranges gives us a rare sight
with thrills.

This is a place for true rejuvenation — after all, there are few places in India today where your
mobile won’t ring!

Itinerary
Day 01 Coimbatore – Baralikkadu
Arrive at Coimbatore Railway station and you will be transferred to hotel. After breakfast proceed
to Baralikkadu. The first sight to greet you at Baralikkadu is the coracle boat in the Bhavani River.
You can enter the boat as 4 in a group and start the ride in the river. Before the ride starts, the
rowers come along and help you fasten a lifejacket. The ride covers a distance of 5 km on the cool
water with mountains and forest on either side gives us a rare sight. After ride enjoy a delicious
homely Lunch served under a row of tall trees close to the place where the coracle rides are
offered.

In the afternoon proceed to Athikkadavu for trekking inside the jungle. Walking into the bushes
and marshes, along the seasonal streams by enjoying the fresh breeze energizes us. Inhaling the
fresh bloom flowers blossom just refreshes us. After the trek take a natural bath in the running
water along with the pleasant breeze gives a cooling sensation and good relief.
Evening return to town and overnight stay at the hotel
Day 02 Coimbatore – Mettupalayam
Morning after breakfast proceed to Black Thunder Theme Park, a fun filled adventurous park in
India having many variety of rides inside. Enjoy full day at the park. You will see people
everywhere screaming and shouting with excitement. Jumping ‘n sliding’, swimming ‘n floating’ of
thrilling adventurous rides spread over an area of 65 acres. Evening return to the town for your
onward return journey to Chennai
