When we set out on a holiday, the yearning is to sink into the lap of nature, away from
concrete jungles, the cacophony of sounds, the incessant streams of people and the flooding
of the senses with trivia. Sadly, most often, we end up choosing instead to sink into the
comfort of a soft mattress, in a world of polite waiters and insipid food, in the background of
senseless chatter from TV and mobiles. As we return to the city after a day or two of
holidaying, we are confronted with a nagging, restless feeling that the holidays were in fact an
extension of life in the city and our experiences were more of the same type of experiences we
are used to, in the city.
If you wish, here is an opportunity to experience the holiday of your dreams – waking up
hearing the chirping of birds, spending quiet, unadulterated time with yourself and your loved
ones and taking long walks witnessing the marvels of nature. Add to this, the sincere attention
from the simple folks managing the cottage where you dwell. Such a world does exist at Sans
Souci in Conoor and it beckons you with urgency to live new experiences and travel on paths
less trodden. Read on, to find out more.
Nestled in the midst of the tranquil, green Nilgiri hills, is a tiny tea estate called Sans
Souci…. the words mean – without a worry – both literally and figuratively!!!
For years Sans Souci has been a place where the family that owned it, came
away to rest, and shake off the dust and worry of city life. It has always been a
place where one is at peace with oneself and nature….where the worries of the
world seem so far away that they become inconsequential at best! A place where
you live without a worry!
In January 2008, Sans Souci opened its doors to a few select persons who know
what it means to experience its beauty and tranquility.

maybe you would like to learn how Tea is harvested.

The location:
The Cost: Rs.2500 per day including breakfast. (You pay separately for lunch
and dinner, if you choose to have them at the cottage).

This trek is for whom nature means a lot and don’t mind walking or climbing…… on rough
terrains. This could be one of the best treks you could experience, and the best part is, it is
very close to the city. This place is about 80 km from the city and will take just about two
hours to reach there. Nagari Hill Range borders Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh blessed
with natural spring water. The trek in the hills is truly breathtaking with the stream flowing
alongside. Food served would be sumptuous cooked traditional, through open wood fire.
